Gitti and Erika

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gitti and Erika or Gitti and Erica are a German singing duo in the field of popular hits that has been known since the 1970s. The duo existed in two different line-ups.

First occupation

The two sisters Gitti (real name: Brigitte Goetz, born January 17, 1958 in Obernburg am Main ) and Erika (real name: Erika Bruhn nee Goetz, born July 17, 1956 in Obernburg am Main) got together with their sister at an early age Karoline lessons in guitar and accordion. The three sisters have two brothers. Gitti, Erika and Karoline sometimes appeared under the group name "Flirt".

In May 1972, the two were discovered at the radio competition competition according to notes from Dieter Thomas Heck and from then on they were looked after by Christian Bruhn . They got a record deal with Polydor in 1973. Their first singles were because of you - because of me , Glück und Glas , Penny Jodelboy and Morgenstern and Abendglocken . The name Erica was spelled with c on the record covers . In 1976 Erika Goetz married Christian Bruhn.

In 1977 Gitti and Erika visited a talent show in Augsburg with Dieter Thomas Heck as up-and-coming talents and brought them back to producer Christian Bruhn. The breakthrough came in 1977 with the theme song for the television series Heidi . The song sold more than five hundred thousand times as a single. With almost 40 million copies sold worldwide, it is an evergreen in German light music.

Other titles followed, mostly in the field of folk music. In 1979 they received the Hermann Löns Medal . This was followed by joint recordings with Karel Gott , Rex Gildo , Andy Borg and Sepp Autovermietungchner . Later Erika asked her sister Gitti to look around for another singing partner. After separating from their new partner Janine in 1991, the duo returned to the original line-up. In September 2006 her new album Liebe auf Zeit was released . Texts and music are from Erika Bruhn. On January 31, 2011, the album Wolkenlose Emotions was released, with which Gitti and Erika celebrate their 40th stage anniversary.

Second occupation

Gitti met the Berlin singer and actress Janine Ohlsen (born June 21, 1958 in Berlin) in 1989 through the composer Walter Geiger (La Pastorella) . Both got along well and so Janine became the new "Erica" (this time spelled with c ). With their first joint title Solang noch rote Rosen blühn they appeared in the popular hit parade and the super hit parade of folk music in 1990 on ZDF .

Since their separation in late 1991, Gitti and Erika have returned to the original line-up. In 1995 the two took part in the Grand Prix of Folk Music , but their title Lonely Evening on the Beach did not make the top five.

Solo activity

Today Gitti lives in the Odenwald , Erika in Bad Aibling , Upper Bavaria . Gitti has been heavily involved in prevention since she suffered from multiple sclerosis . Gitti Goetz can also be seen and heard as a soloist in popular radio, television and live performances. Today she mostly writes her songs, lyrics and arrangements herself. In spring 2006 she released the album It's never too late .

Erika Bruhn was also active as a soloist. She performed under the stage name Lady Lily between 1985 and 1987 . However, the spelling varied, which caused irritation. The sound carriers (7 "vinyl singles, 12" maxi singles, LPs, maxi CDs and CDs) were published under the spelling "Lady Lily"; in the closing credits of the series Alice in Wonderland she was called "Lady Lilli" and in press reports at the time she was written as "Lady Lilly". In 1987 she released the maxi-single Boogie Woogie Baby under the modified stage name Lady L. Brown . She achieved the greatest popularity with the titles Patrik Pacard (theme song of the ZDF Christmas series of the same name ) and Non è vero (soundtrack to the Christmas series Oliver Maass ). She is also the voice of the theme song composed by Christian Bruhn for the Japanese cartoon series Captain Future , which was broadcast on ZDF, and various promotional melodies (e.g. " Milka, the most tender temptation since chocolate has existed ").
