Erin Storie (* 22 April 1991 in Longview as Erin Jones ) is an American triathlete , U23 national champion (2013, 2014) and third in the U23 World Championship on the Olympic short distance (2014).

Career

Erin Jones was a swimmer in her youth and discovered triathlon when she was 17. In 2011 she was accepted by the American umbrella organization USA Triathlon in its Elite Triathlon Academy in Colorado Springs. In 2013, Erin Jones won the American University Triathlon Championships.

In 2013 and 2014 she was national U23 champion and was named U23 athlete of the year in these two years .
In 2013, she also achieved top ten placements at the ITU World Cup races in Tiszaújváros, Palamos and Edmonton. In August 2014 she finished third at the U23 World Championships on the Olympic short distance. In 2014 she came third at the Super Sprint Triathlon Grand Prix in Las Vegas, and in the “USA Triathlon Elite Sprint National Championships”, which is part of this competition, she was American elite runner-up.

In 2015 Jones won the Continental World Cups in Puerto Rico and Dallas . In 2015, Erin Jones was elected to the board of the US Triathlon Association together with the reigning world champion Gwen Jorgensen as an athlete representative. In July 2015, the US Triathlon Federation appointed her as a member of the three male and three female athletes' squad for the Pan American Games , where Jones finished 19th. In October 2015, Erin Jones (together with her fiancé, who won the men's ranking) became American champion in the open ranking in the Biathle . The 2015 World Championship series , for which she was nominated by her association for the competitions in Abu Dhabi, Cape Town, Yokohama, Hamburg , Stockholm and Chicago, she finished in 65th place.

Private

Jones is trained by Jarrod Shoemaker and lives with her husband Logan Storie in Colorado Springs , where she studies health care at the University of Colorado . Like Jones from Oregon, Logan Storie is one of the American candidates for an Olympic participation in the modern pentathlon and grew up in Corvallis. Jones attended Oregon State University there , they even had mutual friends without bumping into each other and only met at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.

In February 2020, the then 28-year-old announced on social media that she was expecting a child this summer.
