Ernst Georg von Kalckreuth

Ernst Georg von Kalckreuth (* 1690 on Guhren near Crossen ; † 1763 ) was a Prussian colonel and commander of the garrison battalion XII .

Life

Kalckreuth served since his youth in the cuirassier regiment "Margrave Friedrich" , in which he made it up to the Rittmeister . In 1740 at the latest he was transferred to East Frisia and became a major and commander of the Prussian garrison stationed in Emden and Greetsiel . In October 1744, the two companies were transferred to the garrison battalion XII. At the same time, King Friedrich II appointed the major colonel and head of the regiment.

During the Seven Years' War Emden was occupied and the crew interned in Geldern .

family

His grandparents were Hans von Kalckreuth († September 12, 1703), heir to Pommerzig , Lochau, Mohsau and Guhren and his wife Anne Marie von Naumann (1638–1693). His father was Hans Otto von Kalckreuth, heir to Guhren. His mother was his first wife Hedwig von Storckwitz († 1690). His father then married Maria Elisabeth von Kleist . He had a half-brother from this marriage, Major General Samuel Adolph von Kalckreuth .

Kalckreuth was married to Anna Juliane von Stössel († 1779). She was the daughter of Carl Siegmund von Stössel from the Liebschütz family and Juliane Regine von Oppel . The couple had the following children:

  • Juliane Sophie Elisabeth (born February 17, 1737; † 1823 in Norden ) ⚭ 1753 Gerhard Siegmund von Closter-Langhaus (1718–1779), Drost in Emden
  • Philippine Sophie Charlotte (* March 21, 1738 - † January 4, 1817 Hammersmith ) ⚭ 1761 Sir George William Smith († 1803 in London )
  • Hans Carl Siegmund (* July 21, 1739; † October 19, 1814), Colonel ⚭ Auguste Henriette Polyxene von Witton (* 1774; † October 19, 1840). The daughter married the author and Colonel Ignaz von Szwykowski.
  • Margaretha Elisabeth "Greetliese" (born January 1, 1742) ⚭ June 6, 1764 Rittmeister Wilhelm Friedrich von Weddingen
