Ernst Pündter
Ernst Theodor Martin Pündter (born May 23, 1884 in Munich ; † December 21, 1929 in Bremen ) was a German actor , theater director , director and radio play speaker, as well as broadcasting manager of the Bremen branch of the Nordischen Rundfunk AG (NORAG).
biography
Pündter was the son of the Bavarian Premier Lieutenant a. D. Franz Xaver Martin Gustav Ludwig Emil Pündter and his wife Carolina Maria Auguste, née Sauer, both of Protestant faith . His older brother Karl Pündter also moved to Hamburg in 1924 to join the newly founded Nordische Rundfunk AG, where both of them often worked together as speakers and directors in the early radio plays (called broadcast games at the time).
Pündter attended grammar school in Munich and studied modern philology at the University of Munich . He received his doctorate in 1912. phil. In 1907 he became an actor and appeared on various smaller stages. He was a soldier in World War I and headed an army theater from 1918 to 1919. After that he worked at various theaters in Latvia , Romania and Transylvania .
In the summer of 1924 he came to Nordischen Rundfunk AG (NORAG) in Hamburg. In 1925 he took over the artistic direction and in January 1926 took over the management of the newly founded branch in Bremen of NORAG, which later became Radio Bremen . The Bremen transmitter was initially housed in the Am Markt 14 building and from 1927 in the Stadtwaage in Langenstrasse . During his time, the close ties to NORAG remained.
