Heinrich Albrecht Ferdinand Eugen von Tresckow (born May 13, 1815 in Schmarfendorf , Königsberg County , † July 1, 1875 in Frankfurt (Oder) ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

Eugen was the son of the Prussian major and landowner Heinrich von Tresckow (1784-1822) and his wife Louise, née von Barfus (1786-1822).

Military career

Tresckow visited the cadet houses in Potsdam and Berlin . Subsequently, on August 6, 1832, he was transferred to the 17th Infantry Regiment of the Prussian Army as Portepeefähnrich. When he was transferred to the 2nd Dragoons Regiment , he changed arms on August 16, 1832 and was promoted to second lieutenant by mid-February 1834 . In 1842/44 he was assigned to the teaching squadron, rose to prime lieutenant in mid-November 1850 and was assigned to the tribe of the 2nd Landwehr Dragoon Regiment in 1852 as squadron leader. In this capacity Tresckow was appointed Rittmeister on July 5, 1853 and on June 3, 1856 as squadron chief in his regular regiment. This was followed by a use in the Leib-Hussar Regiment from January 31, 1858 . He was promoted to major on June 14, 1859, when he was transferred to the 1st Uhlan Regiment as a regular staff officer . In the same capacity, Tresckow returned to the Leib-Husaren-Regiment on June 20, 1859, was aggregated to the regiment on July 25, 1859 and assigned to the regiment on May 12, 1860. In the war against Denmark in 1864 he took part in the siege of Fredericia and the battle at Sondeskogard and was promoted to lieutenant colonel on June 25, 1864 .

After the war, Tresckow was commissioned under position à la suite on April 18, 1865, initially with the command of the 1st Brandenburg Uhlan Regiment No. 3 and on April 3, 1866 he was appointed regiment commander. He led his regiment in 1866 during the war against Austria near Gitschin and Königgrätz and received the Crown Order III for his work . Class with swords. After the peace agreement, Tresckow was transferred to Osnabrück on October 30, 1866 as commander of the 9th Dragoon Regiment and promoted to colonel on December 31, 1866 with a patent from October 30, 1866 . Tresckow married on October 12, 1852 in Schmarfendorf Emilie von Tresckow (1833-1901), a daughter of the Rittmeister Wilhelm von Tresckow. The couple had several children:
