Owl Head Path
The Eulenkopfweg is a hiking trail with a total length of 42 kilometers in North Rhine-Westphalia in the cities of Wuppertal , Wülfrath and Haan . It has a stylized owl's head ( Stringocephalus burtini ) as a signpost , a key fossil of the Central Devonian reef limestone .
The hiking trail provides information on geological, biological, industrial and local history aspects of the northwestern edge of Wuppertal and was created in the second half of the 20th century based on an idea by C. Brauckmann with the participation of a working group from the Fuhlrott Natural History Museum in Wuppertal .
