The European Forestry Nordic Ski Competitions (EFNS) are a renowned European biathlon competition that took place for the first time in 1969 in Todtnau in the Black Forest . Since then, the competition has been held annually in a different European winter sports area.

As the name EFNS already implies, this is a competition for European foresters, or relatives or people working in the wood industry.

In addition to the biathlon competition , the EFNS sees itself as a forest-related training event and as a lived implementation of a united Europe with a broad European contact network.

Competition part

The main part of the event is the biathlon competition. The exact execution can vary from year to year. As a rule, however, the following takes place:

  • 1 classic single run
  • 1 single run free technique
  • 1 relay run (without shooting, the two starting runners have to run in the classic manner, the third or fourth runner can run in a skating style)
