Vocational preparation

As part of vocational qualifications, young people with disabilities and at the same time special needs have the opportunity to take part in vocational training measures (BvB) according to the funding concept of the Federal Employment Agency in accordance with Section 61 of Book III of the Social Code . The main goals of the BvB are to support the participants in recognizing their own abilities and skills and to make a career choice that corresponds to their inclinations and skills. So that the participants can be integrated into training and / or employment , they are taught the knowledge and skills that are necessary for starting vocational training . In the BvB, accommodation in the boarding school is of particular importance. It primarily serves to make people independent and to develop social skills .

Job finding and aptitude assessment

Career development or work trial measures are used to make a career choice decision or to check suitability for various activities. In addition, general education as well as the development of practical life and social skills are promoted during these measures .

Rehab teams

A rehabilitation team is provided for each rehabilitation patient during the duration of the measure. This team includes:

The rehabilitation team is reinforced at various points in time by an employee from the integration counseling department, who supports the person undergoing rehabilitation in the search for internships and jobs.

Living and leisure

The vocational training center has 200 residential spaces in four residential buildings on the site, each of which houses five separate residential communities . Single and double rooms as well as a kitchen and communal area are available per shared apartment.

In addition, there are outdoor living groups in the city of Bitburg . Participants usually live in two-room apartments with a bathroom and kitchen and are supported by living group supervisors. The leisure center includes a sports hall and an outdoor sports field as well as rooms for creative activities , music and theater groups, an internet and a music café. Employees in the leisure sector also organize working groups and adventure-based educational offers, such as B. Leisure time abroad or kayak tours.

European orientation

The vocational training center is also open to young people residing in another European country. Bitburg's proximity to the border with Luxembourg , Belgium , the Netherlands and France ( Lorraine ) is the reason for the special focus in training on the developing European labor market. In the Euro-BBW, in-company training phases in other European countries are part of the standard offer. It also offers learning opportunities for acquiring European qualifications (e.g. “European Commerce Competence”) and intercultural competence .

As part of European projects, the Euro-BBW develops additional offers, e.g. E.g. advanced e-learning courses or exchange opportunities in other European countries.

The advisory board of the Euro-BBW, made up of experts from the various partner regions, accompanies the training and qualification projects. He is chaired by the head of the Luxembourg service des salariés handicapés of the Luxembourg employment service ADEM.
