Eva Ionesco (born July 18, 1965 in Paris ) is a French actress , film director and a former model .

Life

In the 1970s, Ionesco became known as the publicly controversial child-like nude model of her mother, the photographer Irina Ionesco , and Jacques Bourboulon . In October 1976, a series of photos with her, created by Bourboulon, appeared in the Italian edition of Playboy . This made her the youngest nude model in the history of the magazine. On May 23, 1977, Der Spiegel published a nude photo taken by her mother of the pubescent Eva Ionesco with erotic accessories on its front page , the headline was "The sold Lolitas". This led to a reprimand by the German Press Council for sexism for the first time in German history on July 23 of the same year .

Eva Ionesco made her acting debut in 1976 in the feature film The Tenant by Roman Polański . Further film roles strengthened her image as a " child woman ". Her role was cut out of the US soft sex film Spermula (1976) before it was released because she was seen in very revealing poses. In the Italian-German coproduction Play We Love , shot in the late summer of 1976 and published in 1977 , Eva Ionesco - only eleven years old when filming - appeared alongside Lara Wendel, who was of the same age, in revealing nude and soft sex scenes with Martin Loeb . In the uncut version, the performance, distribution and possession of this film have been legally prohibited in Germany according to Section 184b of the Criminal Code ( child pornography ) since 2006 (AG Karlsruhe, 31 Gs 1824/06). At the end of the 70s the youth welfare office stepped in and the mother lost custody. Since then Ionesco has had no contact with her mother, she grew up in a foster family.

In the mid-1980s, Ionesco attended the drama school of the Théâtre des Amandiers in Nanterre . Since then she has regularly appeared in supporting roles in French feature films, television films and series as well as on the theater stage. After 2000, she also went public as a photographer. She exhibited her pictures in several galleries in Paris and on the Internet. In 2011 Ionesco presented her autobiographical feature film debut with I'm Not a F ** king Princess , in which her mother was portrayed by Isabelle Huppert and she herself by Anamaria Vartolomei . The film earned Ionesco a César nomination in 2012 . On November 12, 2012, she sued her mother for damages in the amount of 200,000 euros and for the surrender of all nude photos that her mother had taken of her in the 1970s. The court ordered the return of negatives and awarded Eva Ionesco 10,000 euros in damages, but rejected further claims.
