The Evangelical People's Party Zurich is a center party in the canton of Zurich . It is a cantonal party of the Evangelical People's Party .

The orientation of the EVP ZH is very broad and more eco-social-conservative. The economically liberal element is there, but less evident.

Around 59% of the members of the EPP Zurich come from the Reformed regional church , 36% from various free churches and 2% from the Roman Catholic regional church.

Apart from the years 1939–1943, the EPP Zurich has always had one or two national councilors since 1919.

In the 2019 cantonal elections , the EVP ZH received 4.24% of the vote (-0.03% compared to 2015). The EPP still has 8 seats in the Zurich Cantonal Council . EVP ZH achieved its best result in the Pfäffikon district with 9.42%.

Nik Gugger represents the EPP ZH in the National Council . In the 2019 National Council elections , the EPP achieved 3.30% (+ 0.18%) in the canton of Zurich . This result is made up of 2.69% for the main list, 0.34% for the * jevp and 0.28% for the list women EPP . The EPP main list achieved its best result in the Pfäffikon district (4.81%), the * jevp in the Hinwil district (0.51%) and the women's list also in the Hinwil district (0.44%).

In 2016, the EPP of the Canton of Zurich provided three chief judges, 25 members of community executives and 27 seats in community parliaments.

The EPP Zurich has launched the following cantonal popular initiatives in recent years:

2004: Zurich popular initiative for the subject 'Biblical History'

2013: Zurich popular initiative "Riverside Paths for All"

2014: class size initiative

2017: Initiative "Fair suffrage for Züri"
