Evangelista Alcimar Caldas Magalhães OFMCap (born February 2, 1940 in Benjamin Constant , Amazonas , Brazil ) is a Roman Catholic clergyman and emeritus bishop of Alto Solimões .

Life

Evangelista Caldas Magalhães Alcimar entered the religious order of the Capuchin and received on 9 July 1967, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On September 3, 1981 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the Bishop of Carolina . The Archbishop of Manaus , Milton Corrêa Pereira , donated him episcopal ordination on October 25 of the same year ; Co-consecrators were the Prelate of Coari , Gutemberg Freire Régis CSsR , and the Prelate of Alto Solimões, Adalberto Domingos Marzi OFMCap. On September 12, 1990, John Paul II appointed him prelate of Alto Solimões . The appointment as bishop of Alto Solimões took place with the elevation of the prelature to the diocese on August 14, 1991.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on May 20, 2015.
