Ewaldus Martinus Sedu

Ewaldus Martinus Sedu (born July 30, 1963 in Bajawa , Indonesia ) is an Indonesian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Maumere .

Life

After attending the small seminary in Mataloko , Ewaldus Martinus Sedu studied philosophy and Catholic theology at the seminary in Ritapiret . He received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Ende on July 7, 1991 .

From 1991 to 1993 Sedu was parish vicar in Maumere . He was then pastor in Wolofeo until 1995 before becoming pastor in Maumere and in charge of catechesis . From 1997 to 2001 Ewaldus Martinus Sedu studied at the Pontifical University of the Salesians in Rome , where he obtained a degree in pedagogy . In 2001 Sedu became a lecturer and instructor at the seminary in Ritapiret. On December 14, 2005 he was incardinated in the clergy of the newly established diocese of Maumere . From 2010 to 2015, Ewaldus Martinus Sedu Regens was the seminary in Ritapiret before he was appointed vicar general of the Maumere diocese.

On July 14, 2018, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Maumere. The bishop emeritus of Maumere, Girulfus Kherubim Pareira SVD , donated him episcopal ordination on September 26th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Ende , Vincentius Sensi Potokota , and the Bishop of Larantuka , Franciscus Kopong Kung .
