history
The Espresso Venezia was built as one of four sister ships at Cantieri Naval Luigi Orlando in Livorno and launched on January 22, 1977. After the takeover by Tirrenia di Navigazione in July 1977, it began ferry service from Catania to Malta .
In 1989 Espresso Venezia switched to the route from Brindisi to Patras , and in 1990 it was renamed Espresso Malta . After two more years in service, the ship was launched in Palermo in 1992 .
After the layover, the Espresso Malta went to Ventouris Ferries under the new name Pegasus , in order to be used between Italy , Albania and Greece from now on. On October 26, 1996 , the ship ran aground in front of Patroklos and had to be repaired in Piraeus before it could resume sailing in December.
In November 1999 Minoan Flying Dolphins took over the Pegasus in order to use it as Express Dionysos in ferry operations on the Greek coast from 2000 . In 2002 it was renamed Express Pegasus before it became the property of Hellenic Seaways in January 2005.
In the following years, the Express Pegasus was in service on various routes on the Greek coast. Since June 2013 she has been sailing between Agios Konstandinos , Skiathos , Alonissos and Skopelos . The ship was launched in Keratsini on September 9, 2013, but returned to service in 2014 after an overhaul in dry dock. The Express Pegasus has since been used between Piraeus and Santorini with stops in Kynthos , Serifos , Sifnos , Kimolos , Milos , Sikinos and Folegandros .
