Fabian Rösch

Fabian Rösch (* 1994 in Munich ) is a German jazz musician ( drums ).

Live and act

Rösch, who grew up in a music-loving family in Oberhaching , received music lessons in drums and trumpet from the age of five; Guido May has been teaching him since 2008 . At the age of 16 he began studying jazz drums as a major at the University of Music and Theater in Munich . In 2012 he moved to the Jazz Institute Berlin , where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree from John Hollenbeck in 2016 .

As a sideman of international musicians and artists, Rösch was already on the road during his studies in Canada, Albania, the Czech Republic, Italy, Austria and Switzerland. He was part of Matthias Lindermayr's quartet and has been a member of the Offshore quintet since 2014 , with which he released two albums. Since 2015 he has played in Marc Doffey's quintet . Furthermore, he belongs to the bands of Veronika Zunhammer , Andreas Herrmann, Friederike Merz and the big band Heisser Hirte .

Prizes and awards

After the state competition Jugend jazzt 2006 as a soloist, Rösch won the Biberach Jazz Prize in 2012 with the Matthias Lindermayr Quartet. With the Marc Doffey Quintet, he not only received the Saar Jazz Prize in 2015, but also became the first winner of the Young German Jazz Prize and the Young Munich Jazz Prize in 2016.
