Fabiana Striffler (born January 27, 1988 in Schwäbisch Hall ) is a German jazz musician ( violin , also mandolin , vocals , composition ).

Live and act

Striffler, who grew up in Italy and in Wahlwies and attended Waldorf School , began to play the violin at the age of six. She studied jazz and classical violin in Berlin at the University of the Arts and the "Hanns Eisler" University of Music in Berlin . Striffler first played in classical ensembles and orchestras before working with the Omniversal Earkestra , with Greg Cohen , John Hollenbeck and Kurt Rosenwinkel , but also with Kwabs , Awa Ly , Sarah Connor and the Afrobeat band Polyversal Souls . In 2016 Striffler was brought in as a studio musician by the British pop band Travis for their album Everything at Once . She has been part of the Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra since 2017 .

Striffler's debut album Mahagoni was nominated for the VIA Award by Deutschlandfunk as “Best Album” of the year. This was followed by their current album Sweet and So Solitary , which was rated by the magazine Zitty as a "revolution in jazz" and "chamber jazz".
