Fatuleu is an Indonesian district ( Kecamatan ) in the west of the island of Timor .

The district is located in the center of the government district of Kupang in the province of East Nusa Tenggara (Nusa Tenggara Timur) . To the north are the districts of Takari and Central Fatuleu (Fatuleu Tengah) , to the west of East Kupang (Kupang Timur) and to the south of Amabi Oefeto and East Amabi-Oefeto (Amabi Oefeto Timur) . In the east, Fatuleu extends to the border river to the administrative district of South Central Timor (Timor Tengah Selatan) with its district of South Amanuban .
Fatuleu has an area of 400.29 km² and is divided into the Kelurahan Camplong I and the nine Desa Camplong II , Naunu , Oebola , Sillu , Ekateta , Tolnaku , Kuimasi , Oebola Dalam and Kiuoni . There are very large differences in altitude in the territory. While Kuimasi is 29 m above sea level , Sillu is at 510 m . As in Timor, the tropical climate is divided into a rainy and a dry season .

Residents
In 2017 there were 27,110 inhabitants in Fatuleu. 13,890 were men, 13,220 women. The population density was 67.7 people per square kilometer. 2,897 people professed to be Catholic, 12,361 were Protestants and 1,326 people were Muslim. There were 14 Catholic and 79 Protestant churches and two mosques in the district.
Economy, infrastructure and transport
Most of the district's residents make a living from agriculture. Cattle (21,142), horses (169), buffalo (41), pigs (7929), goats (4274), ducks (477) and chickens (29,854) are kept as pets. Maize is grown on 3,189 hectares, 69 hectares of rice, 22 hectares of cassava, 431 hectares of peanuts and 23 hectares of green beans. In addition to harvest mustard, oranges, bananas, mangoes, papayas, jackfruit, avocado, Soursop , coconuts, cocoa, kapok , light nuts , Arecanüsse , coffee, cashew nuts, nutmeg and tobacco.
In Fatuleu there are 16 kindergartens, 32 primary schools, 14 middle schools and five secondary schools. A municipal health center ( Puskesmas ) in Kuimasi and ten medical care centers ( Puskesmas Pembantu ) are available for medical care . Two doctors, 17 midwives and eight nurses work in the district.
11.7 kilometers of roads are paved. 32.5 kilometers of roads are covered with gravel. Simple clay slopes in the district have a length of 26.5 kilometers.
