East Amabi Oefeto ( Indonesian Amabi Oefeto Timur ) is an Indonesian district ( Kecamatan ) in the west of the island of Timor .

The district is located in the southeast of the government district of Kupang in the province of East Nusa Tenggara (Nusa Tenggara Timur) . To the north lies the Fatuleu district , to the west Amabi Oefeto and south to Ostamarasi (Amarasi Timur) . In the east is the administrative district of South Central Timor (Timor Tengah Selatan) with its district of South Amanuban (Amanuban Selatan) .
East Amabi Oefeto has an area of 236.72 km² and is divided into the ten Desa Pathau , Muke , Oemolo , Oemofa , Seki , Nunmafo , Oenunutono , Oeniko , Enolanan and Oenaunu . The administrative headquarters are in Oemofa. The territory is located at an altitude between about 250 m and 450 m . As in Timor, the tropical climate is divided into a rainy and a dry season . The district consists of mountains and grasslands with palms and other trees.
Residents
In 2017 there were 14,124 inhabitants in East Amabi Oefeto. 7277 were men, 6847 women. The population density was 60 people per square kilometer. 834 people professed to be Catholic, 13,617 were Protestants and 19 people were Muslim. There were five Catholic and 39 Protestant churches in the district.
Economy, infrastructure and transport
Most of the district's residents make a living from agriculture. Cattle (2985), horses (35), buffalo (two), pigs (4304), goats (1557), chickens (6310) and ducks (229) are kept as pets. Corn is grown on 1,150 hectares, rice on 16.7 hectares, cassava on 350 hectares and peanuts on 2.0 hectares. In addition to harvest bananas, coconuts, kapok , light nuts , Arecanüsse , cashews, nutmeg and tobacco.
In Ost-Amabi-Oefeto there are 22 kindergartens, 19 elementary schools, eleven middle schools and five secondary schools. A community health center ( Puskesmas ) in Oenuntono and nine medical care centers ( Puskesmas Pembantu ) are available for medical care . 16 doctors and nine midwives work in the district.
26 kilometers of roads are paved. 136.5 kilometers of roads are covered with gravel. Simple clay slopes in the district have a length of 589 kilometers. Public transport is operated by 57 pick-ups, 15 trucks, a bus and 78 motorcycles.
