Ferdinand Goetz

Ferdinand Götz (born June 12, 1955 in Strobl ) is an Austrian artist .

Life

Ferdinand Götz is self-taught as an artist . He works with various forms of visual arts such as painting, graphics, sculpture, photography and also seeks a connection to film and literature. In his work he uses “metaphors of strong expressiveness, which sometimes show an affinity for the fantastic. With reduced resources, he depicts people who have only a poorly defined relationship with one another. ”In his constructing a house project , which he ran for over 15 years , he developed counter-models to an absurd world of housing. In addition to Peter Assmann , Richard Wall and Paul Jaeg, Götz belongs to the artist group Sinnenbrand .

In 2007, he had for the venue Hallstatt artistic director of the multimedia project "The Island of the Bird Men - The Iceland of the Birdmen - St Kilda", an opera by Lew Bogdan and Ian Finlay Macleod (text) and David Paul Graham and Jean Paul Dessy (composition), which was performed simultaneously in five European countries.

Götz has been the curator of the Kunsthaus Deutschvilla in Strobl on Lake Wolfgang since spring 2013 . He lives in Bad Ischl .
