Fernanda França da Silva (born September 25, 1989 in São Bernardo do Campo ) is a Brazilian handball player who belongs to the squad of the Brazilian national team.

Career

In the club

Fernanda da Silva started playing handball in Brazil at Metodista. In February 2010 she was signed by the Spanish club Parc Sagunt . Parc Sagunt ran outside player in the Spanish top flight, and took in the 2010/11 season at the EHF Cup part.

In the summer of 2011, da Silva joined the Austrian association Hypo Niederösterreich , which shortly beforehand had signed a cooperation agreement with the Brazilian handball association. With Hypo, she has won both the Austrian championship and the ÖHB Cup in every season . She also collects match practice in the EHF Champions League every season . In the EHF Champions League 2012/13 Hypo Niederösterreich was eliminated after the preliminary round, but qualified for the current competition of the European Cup Winners' Cup . Here Hypo moved into the final and won the final against the French club Issy Paris Hand . The Brazilian scored a total of ten goals in the two finals. In summer 2014 she joined the Romanian first division club CSM Bucharest . With CSM Bucharest she won the championship in 2015 and the EHF Champions League in 2016. In summer 2016 she moved to the German club SG BBM Bietigheim . From November 2016 da Silva paused due to her pregnancy, after which she no longer played a game for Bietigheim. With Bietigheim she won the German championship in the 2016/17 season. In the summer of 2018 Fernanda da Silva joined the Spanish first division club BM Bera Bera , which she left again in December 2018. After a year and a half break, she joined the French third division club Côte Basque Handball.

In the national team

Fernanda da Silva initially played for the Brazilian junior national team and was then accepted into the squad of the senior national team. With the Brazilian selection she was runner- up at the Pan American Championships in 2009 and won the Pan American Championship in 2011 and 2013 . In 2013, she also won the tournament's top scorer's crown with 55 goals. The Brazilian finished sixth with the national team at the 2012 Olympic Games in London . Furthermore, da Silva took part with Brazil in the 16th Pan American Games in Guadalajara . There she won the gold medal and contributed five goals to the final victory over Argentina. At the 17th Pan American Games in Toronto , she won the gold medal again. She also took part in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro .

Fernanda da Silva was part of the Brazilian squad at the 2009 , 2011 and 2013 World Championships . At the 2013 World Cup in Serbia , she celebrated winning the World Cup title.
