Fernando , full name Fernando dos Santos Pedro , (born March 1, 1999 in Belo Horizonte ) is a Brazilian football player on the position of the winger . He is currently under contract with the Ukrainian first division club Shakhtar Donetsk .
Career
Club career
Fernando comes from the youth academy of the traditional Brazilian club Palmeiras São Paulo . At the U-20 state championship in São Paulo 2017, he was the top scorer of the team that won the championship with 13 goals. On November 9, 2017, he made his debut in the top Brazilian division when he came into play in the half-time break for Bruno Henrique in the 1: 3 away defeat against EC Vitória . This was his only appearance in the Série A. He made his debut at the São Paulo state championship on March 11, 2018 in a 3-0 away win against Ituano FC . In that game, he came in the 77th minute for Rafael Papagaio in the game and scored three minutes later for the first team for the first time.
On June 17, 2018 Fernando’s move to the Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk was announced. The first division club paid a transfer fee of 5.5 million euros for his services and provided him with a five-year contract. He made his league debut on June 25 in a 2-0 away win against Desna Chernihiv . He scored for the first time in the 3-0 home win against Arsenal Kiev in the next game. In the 2018/19 season he made 18 league appearances in which he scored twice and won both the championship title and the cup with his club .
On September 2, 2019, he was loaned to the Portuguese first division club Sporting Lisbon for the entire 2019/20 season.
