The Festenbach (also Moosbach ) is an Upper Bavarian mountain stream that flows into the Mangfall .

course

The sources of the Festenbach are located in the Tegernsee mountains on the northern slope of the Nesselscheiberücken between the Isar valley and the Tegernsee at around 1180 meters above sea level. NN The source area is also known as Festenbachlüß. At 947 meters above sea level The Nickel-Alm is located directly on the Festenbach. Before the brook reaches Marienstein, there is a landfill and the Marienstein sewage treatment plant to the left of the brook bed. The Festenbach runs through the town of Marienstein and further on between Georgenried and the Steinbergstraße settlement. After crossing the state road 2365, the stream continues over agricultural areas towards Moosrain . Before Moosrain, the Moosbach has been flowing through a retention basin with a capacity of around 700,000 m³ since 2009. In Moosrain the stream crosses the federal highway 318 and then continues over grassland through the Gmund district of Festenbach. Here the Dürnbach flows into the Festenbach before it flows into the Mangfalltal . The Festenbach flows into the Mangfall at Thalmühl . The Festenbach has several small tributaries.

Building

The Bach Festival is partially straightened and installed . Among other things, a retention basin was built in front of Moosrain in 2009 , which previously cost 1.6 million euros. Further expansion measures are planned in the Moosrain area.
