Fictional 15
The American Forbes magazine has published the Fictional 15 annually since 2005 , a list of the 15 richest fictional but not mythological characters.
selection
The characters must generally star in a particular work and be known for being rich in both their fictional and real worlds. The selection criteria are based on the economic conditions in the real world. The editorial team tries to identify the economic base of wealth and calculate the changes that base has undergone in the previous year. Forbes presents the winners in short portraits, explains the sources of their wealth and comments on the acquisition.
Change over time
The Santa Claus , who for many years led the list, Forbes stressed since complained loudly editorial numerous children that Santa Claus is indeed real.
In 2009, Uncle Sam rose to become the richest fictional person as the emblem of the United States, demonstrating the United States' ability to circulate huge amounts of money. In 2010, the Forbes editorial team downgraded him drastically because they doubted how much this infinite supply of money would actually be worth. On the other hand, the fictitious wealth of Dagobert Duck for example fluctuates with the commodity indices . National Public Radio describes Forbes 15 as one of the most creative among the many lists in the business press that cover the richest or most successful people or companies .
The only people who have been on the list every year since 2005 are Bruce Wayne , Thurston Howell III , Scrooge McDuck (in German Dagobert Duck ) and C. Montgomery Burns .
