Figures from Ginger's world

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A number of recurring characters appear throughout the various episodes in Ginger's world . Prominent characters are listed here.

Foutley family

Ginger Foutley

German dubbing voice: Joey Cordevin ; Original English voice actor: Melissa Disney
Ginger Foutley is an average 12-year-old girl, red-haired (English: ginger haired ) and the protagonist in the series. She wasn't considered "popular" until the stereotypical " Schuleta " decided to
befriend her. Through Ginger, Courtney can see how the world works outside of the popular clique. However, Courtney's "right-hand man" becomes increasingly jealous of Courtney and Ginger's relationship, and stops at nothing to relegate Ginger to her previous role as a geek . Aside from Courtney, Ginger has a group of loyal friends Dodie Bishop and Macie Lightfoot , who are almost always ready to assist them.

At home, Ginger's mother Lois, a nurse , tries to give Ginger advice for most of her situations, but since Ginger is often too embarrassed to listen to her mother's arguments, she very often learns from her own mistakes all the time.

Ginger's younger brother, fourth grader Carl , often tries to use Ginger as a human subject for his experiments and uses twisted schemes. However, he's tried this so many times that Ginger usually knows he's up to something and refuses to give in.

At the beginning of the series, Ginger didn't know much about her father, who left the family shortly after Carl was born. In "Hello Stranger!" she invited him to her poetry class at school. Even though he hadn't responded to the invitation, Ginger was convinced he would come anyway, and she was devastated when he didn't. In Wild Christmas (whose original English title An "Even-Steven" holiday special refers to the fact that Ginger tears between Christmas and Hanukkah at the same time, after learning that she is a quarter Jew ), Jonas briefly returns to the family, after seeing Carl on the street. Though never officially returning to the family, Jonas became more of an installation on the series and appeared at various intervals to give Ginger paternal advice.

Ginger is portrayed as academically excellent. She is a self-described "science geek" and often sneaks in on her chemistry teacher, Mr. Celia. Ginger is a very talented writer, especially gifted at writing poetry . In Hello Stranger is shown that it may well recite poetry. In Schöne Chemie (English original title: The "A" Ticket ) she and her crush, Ian Richton, were paired as laboratory partners, but he only takes advantage of them to get an A (a 1) so that he can stay on the soccer team could, much to Ginger's annoyance. Ginger is a favorite of her English teacher, Mrs. Zorski, because of her talent as a writer. Ginger once wrote a poem entitled "And Then She Was Gone" (hereinafter "The Magic Powder") to Miss Zorskis Sorge, who then sent Ginger to a school psychologist. Her talent for writing is carried further down the franchise by showing in the series finale that Ginger has become a successful writer in later life.

Ginger's love life has been pretty disastrous as the series progressed. At first she had a crush on Ian Richton, which probably ended when she realized he was only using her to get an A in science. Another notable relationship Ginger had is with Sasha, a boy she met at Camp Caprice. She left summer camp with Sasha on good terms, but when she visited him in Ginger's solo at his school, he told her that he had a girlfriend. Her relationship with her good friend and neighbor Darren Patterson was incredibly tumultuous and changed a lot during the series. After Miranda suggested in He Loves Me, He Doesn't Love Me (original title: "Dare I, Darren?") That they (Ginger and Darren) would make a good couple, Ginger began to see Darren in a romantic light. Later, in the episode Never Can Say Goodbye , she develops a physical attraction to Darren after he has his braces removed. Despite attempts to deny these newfound feelings, Ginger becomes incredibly jealous when Darren and Miranda start dating each other. Eventually, Ginger and Darren become an official couple in Foutleys On Ice (Part 3). By the time they reach high school , Darren soon becomes interested in a cheerleader named Simone . Darren cheats on Ginger, leaving her heartbroken. She then develops acute appendicitis and has to go to the hospital. She finds solace in a new friend, Orion . You and Orion never have an official relationship, but rather a flirty friendship. In the series finale, The Greatest Happiness on Earth (Part 3) , Ginger makes the leap and is shown with Orion at her mother's wedding.

At the end of the episode, when Ginger's future is shown, not only is she wearing a wedding ring (or maybe just an engagement ring), but Darren is shown holding a baby very similar to Ginger.

Carl Foutley

German dubbing voice: Anja Topf ; English original dubbing voice: Jeannie Elias

Carl Foutley is Ginger's younger brother. In the first season he is 9 years old - and thus three years younger than Ginger - and is in fourth grade. He and his sidekick , "Hoodsey" Bishop , come up with plans and conduct them and their experiments in an abandoned dog house in the backyard of the Foutleys. The kennel once belonged to the Foutleys dog Monster, who ran away many years before the series began. In the series finale, Monster returns to the Foutleys. Because of his unique, yet disturbing personality, his family sometimes acts like they dislike him and often criticizes him.

Courtney Gripling's younger brother, Blake , is often the recipient of Carl's bad sense of humor due to the repeated theft of a petrified eyeball that originally belonged to Carl. Blake is usually seen on Carl's good side, but Carl refuses his advances and takes every opportunity to humiliate Blake.

Carl's catchphrase is "secret". He is incredibly secretive about his plans and reveals as little as possible about them to anyone who can inquire, even if he needs outside help to get the necessary materials, including catching a naked mole rat (Episode: Poor Little Macie ) , turn yourself into a wolf (Episode: A Hairy Affair ) and try to stay on a ski lift for 16 hours (Episode: Matching Up for Beginners ).

Despite his love for the gross and unusual things, Carl also has a big heart, as shown several times: He delivered a beautiful eulogy at Maude's funeral ("Carl & Maude") and even cried publicly after learning of Mrs. Gordon's inappropriate hours after trying to get her to return. In "The Cool Party" it was revealed that Carl is a great cook. Joann Bishop (Dodie and Hoodsey's mother) doesn't like Carl and often speaks very badly of him, despite his usual attempts to be nice to her.

Carl's only true love is Noelle Sussman . Originally, Noelle was viewed by Carl as a nobody to test his "vanishing powder" on, as he felt it was expendable and shouldn't be overlooked. However, as he studies the progress of his experiments, he realizes what a really strange girl Noelle is and that he misses her, which leads the two to develop a relationship in The Magic Powder .

The series finale shows how Carl and Hoodsey became popular TV reporters. You will also be in the group for a later reading of Ginger's latest book.

Lois Foutley

German dubbing voice: Isabella Grothe ; Original English dubbing voice: Laraine Newman
Lois "Lola" Foutley is Gingers and Carl's mother. She's reportedly 31 years old, but that's probably a lie, and more likely, like Dodies and Courtney's mothers, she's almost 40 years old. She seems to like celery in the later episodes, and can often be seen sniffing away. Although she is a loving mother to Ginger and Carl, she is also a strict discipline and does not hesitate to set foot if she feels it necessary. For example, in Kiss and Make-up, Ginger, Dodie and Macie create their own make-up using colored pencils, pudding and other household items. Lois gets angry at this blatant defiance, because she had already told Ginger that she was too young to wear makeup and justified Ginger "endlessly" without hearing her reasoning. With Carl, however, Lois seems to have adopted a "don't ask, don't tell" philosophy. In episode 23, it is revealed that Lois has a strange fear of accountants (although she was mentioned in passing and never got mixed up again). In the same episode, she is heard muttering her wish for all pygmy elephants to die. Although it can be discussed among fans, many fans leave the episode to double-check what they have heard. She drives an old blue VW Beetle that had an engine failure in the Friday the 13th episode .

Before the series began, Lois was married to Jonas Foutley, who left her shortly after Carl was born. Lois 'love life stayed in the dark until The Man in the House , when she and Buzz (the plumber who solved the Foutleys' problem on Friday the 13th ) developed a flirtatious relationship that later resulted in Buzz and his three sons in the house of the Foutleys moved to become a nuisance by putting everything "in one man's hands". Buzz continues to use the excuse "boys are boys" to justify his sons' behavior as well as his own, but that eventually leads to Lois breaking up with him.

A while later she saw a colleague from the hospital, Dr. David Dave. In Joann's second spring he proposed to her and they got married in the series finale, The greatest happiness on earth . Lois and Dave are last seen reading Ginger's latest book many years later.

It's worth noting that Lois kept Jonas' surname even though they were believed to have been divorced for about ten years (assuming Jonas left before Carl was one and Carl is in fourth grade, which makes him nine or ten years old would) at the beginning of the series.

Jonas Foutley

Original English
voiceover
: Tom Virtue Jonas Foutley is Ginger and Carl's biological father, who left her and Lois sometime after Carl was born. Ginger has never had any fond or even clear memories of her father, and all of the photos of him in her possession are of his feet.

In the episode Hello, Stranger , Jonas is 34 years old and lives in an apartment. Although he never returns Ginger's call, she makes sure he will show up at her reading. However, Lois rightly believes that he will not appear. Lois is working at the time of Ginger's gig and sent sunflowers to school with a card signed "Dad", but Ginger realizes that Lois sent the flowers and her father abandoned her.

In the Wild Christmas episode , Jonas appears as Santa Claus, who is standing on the street corner collecting money, and Carl and Hoodsey happen to join them. Hoodsey believes Jonas really is Santa and confides in him that Carl doesn't believe in Santa because Santa never granted him his only wish (to have his father at home for Christmas). After hearing this, Jonas decides to pay the Foutleys a visit, which improves his relationship with his children a little.

While Jonas never really becomes a permanent fixture in the family, he does seem to offer paternal advice to Ginger at times, teaching her about the extended family from which she descended. However, Carl is still bitter towards his father for leaving him and limits his contact with him.

Jonas is described as an animal lover and has a dog named Ben.

Dr. David Dave

Original English voiceover: David Jeremiah
Dr. David Dave is 39 years old. Although he was not an official foutley, Dr. Dave and Lois in the series finale . He had worked very closely with Lois in the hospital since the series began. Throughout the series, there were numerous indications that he had a crush on Lois. He then proposed marriage to her in Joan's second spring . His mother, 60 years old, does not approve of their relationship and hired someone in The Greatest Happiness on Earth to sabotage Dave and Lois' wedding, but the one was stopped and the wedding could go on as planned. He and Lois are last shown years later reading his stepdaughter Ginger's latest book.

Bishop family

Dodie Bishop

German dubbing voice: Tanja Dohse ; Original English dubbing voice: Aspen Miller
Deirdre Hortense "Dodie" Bishop, 12 years old, together with Macie Lightfoot she forms Ginger's inner circle of friends. Dodie is known for her big mouth and love of gossip. She often sees Ginger on the latest happenings with the popular group or in the modern day romance. She appears to be very needy and wants nothing more than to be popular and often do unscrupulous things to achieve high social status. For example, in the episode "Cheating Doesn't Count!", She feigns a broken leg to win a coveted spot on the cheerleading squad, but her ruse was exposed by Ginger and Macie. Usually, however, when she thinks she is about to become popular, she gets a little corrupt and dishonest and always ends where she started. While it is difficult for her to see when her tricks have gone too far for popularity, acceptance, and sometimes manipulation, once she realizes what she has done, she will do whatever it takes to apologize and repair the damage. It is also noted that while she occasionally succumbs to the lure of being popular on her own, she usually wishes her best friends included in her schemes: she is a loyal friend at heart, and will usually keep herself from harming Ginger and Macie . At the beginning of the series she referred to Courtney Gripling as "Potie" and hardly acknowledged her existence. However, when Courtney gets closer to Ginger, she also gets closer to Dodie.

In Von Läusen & Freunde , Dodie becomes Head Girl. Concerned by the dullness of the announcements, Dodie begins to infiltrate the school information with interesting rumors. This makes the morning announcements a highly anticipated event and also makes them the talk of popular kids as she kind of knows things that even the characters from Ginger's world (Miranda Killgallen) are known to be known. Under pressure to keep her announcements interesting and not get any more news, Dodie finds the list of children who have lice and decides to read it over the speaker as she lists the name of it. Ginger manages to stop her before she gets to Courtney's name, and while briefly angry at her friend, Dodie soon understands that she's getting carried away by the popularity and resigns.

She is the daughter of Joann and David Charles Bishop; Joann seems to be the source of Dodie's ruthless and insidious nature when Robert explained to his daughter that Joann was just like Dodie as a teenager: desperate for popularity, but always just behind. However, she is far less judgmental and more control-fanatic than her mother, perhaps thanks to the influence of her mild, shy father and his keener perception of the word.

Dodie is very close to her best friends and can react very strongly when she thinks she might lose her place in her heart to someone else. She has even given in to the otherwise idolized Courtney Gripling, becoming jealous when inviting Ginger to attend social events like birthday parties or sleep parties, or when she believes Ginger is closer to Courtney than she is than when they are seen while seemingly sharing secrets of a fire drill (although in this case Miranda is actively fueling her fears). That jealousy also rose when Darren and Ginger first became a couple and absorbed something that made her and Macie separate. When the plan was discovered and Ginger stopped talking to them for a while, Dodie felt guilty and heard an apology on Ginger's answering machine.

When she enters high school, Dodie tries to become a cheerleader but is transferred to the position of equipment manager. She matures and becomes more cautious in her approach to social situations and gossip: When she gets wind that Darren, her friend's boyfriend, is now more attracted to cheerleader Simone, she writes him a lengthy letter telling him that she won't run to Ginger with the information, but she advises him to deal with the situation as best as possible before someone is injured.

At the end of the series finale , Dodie is shown marrying her friend Chet Zipper, with whom she has a young daughter.

Robert Joseph 'Hoodsey' Bishop

German dubbing voice: Oliver Böttcher ; Original English
voiceover
: Tress MacNeille Robert Joseph Bishop, called Hoodsey, is Dodie's younger brother, 9 years old, and Carl Foutley's best friend and sidekick . He is extremely gullible and believes everything that is told to him. He usually doesn't have any extra ideas for Carl's conspiracies, but he's usually more than happy when it comes to helping Carl. He is called "Hoodsey" because he never wears anything other than a purple hooded sweatshirt , and his closet is filled to the brim .

Hoodsey is a complete mother boy and always repeats things his mother tells him. He usually uses his mother's advice to dissuade Carl from his intrigues, which is usually in vain.

In the series finale , Hoodsey is featured as a popular TV reporter along with Carl, and they are both in the group at a later reading of Ginger's latest book. He is also shown with a wedding ring on his finger.

Joann Bishop

Original English
voiceover
: Susan Krebs Joann Bishop is Dodies and Hoodsey's mother and a very irritable woman. She appears to be deeply critical and disapproving of Hoodsey's friendship with Carl Foutley, and appears to even tolerate Lois Foutley as Lois does, yet she has no obvious problem with Dodies and Ginger's friendship.

Much to Dodie's horror, Joann gets a job as a substitute teacher at Dodie's school as a result of Joan's second spring . This appears to be an attempt to reinvent her youth, however, as she is doing her best to get Courtney's group to accept them by adopting pathetically outdated and exaggerated youthful manners and giving themselves the alter ego "Josie" . Dodie initially assumes that Joann was like Courtney in her youth, but later finds out that Joann was pretty much like Dodie himself in middle school : needy, dishonest, and desperate to be popular. Joann's picture in her middle school yearbook reads "Missed Popularity" while her classmate, the real Josie MacDonald, was voted "Miss Popularity". According to her husband, Joann also turned to fraudulent tactics to gain popularity; a trait she apparently passed on to her daughter. Joann later showed remorse for her actions and encouraged her daughter to accept herself as one is so that she never finds her unhappiness. Joann is portrayed as very neurotic and a kind of control freak . She insists on calling Dodie and Hoodsey by their real names and hates being called "JoJo".

Dave Bishop

Original English dubbing voices: John Astin (season 1) and Dan Castellaneta (season 2–3)
David Charles "Dave" Bishop is Dodie and Hoodsey's vadder. He almost always seems to be on the couch, though an important cause (such as a death in the family) gets his attention. He's quieter than his wife and accepts Carl more as Hoodsey's friend. He is a loving and affectionate father and is very concerned about the happiness of his children. In the aftermath of Joan's Second Spring , he urged his children to accept themselves for fear that they would otherwise become as unhappy as their mother, who spent her entire youth trying to get people to like them, was each time it ended in nowhere. He and Hoodsey watch the weather channel together, and he's a fan of game shows . It bears a certain resemblance to Hoodsey and looks almost like an older and thicker version of Hoodsey with glasses.

Lightfoot family

Macie Lightfoot

German dubbing voice: Eva Michaelis ; Original English
voiceover
: Jackie Harris Macie is Ginger's other best friend and is 12 years old. Macie is constantly panicking because she is allergic to everything and fears change. She is portrayed as the group's greatest " geek " and is very knowledgeable. She is incredibly childish, probably because her parents are not there to help her through the various stages of puberty. It is implied that they were very attentive to her when she was younger. She also has a wide range of knowledge on a wide variety of subjects. Macie is half Asian / half Caucasian ; her mother is Asian and her father is Caucasian.

In the episode The Little Seal Girl , Macie, Dodie and Ginger agree on a sketch dedicated to the little seal girl, their childhood heroine, for the school talent show . They want to do it together, according to their best friend tradition (BFT). But when Dodie and Ginger get out because Miranda and Courtney mocked their teen skit, Macie goes solo and explains that her friends betray her and the seal girl they've spent their entire lives with. Despite everyone's skepticism and more than a few things that go wrong during the skit (like the tape recording she was moving to jumped out of the player in the middle of its playback with a mess of tape), improvisation finally made Macie win the talent show . Dodie and Ginger congratulate her after the show and the trio is reconciled again.

As a result, poor little Macie , Macie is disappointed by her parents because they forgot her thirteenth birthday. Bought with guilt, they buy her a set of swings : they have been absent from Macie's life for so long that they are oblivious to her actual age and what is appropriate for her. They start catching up with Macie this way, taking her to parks, kids' restaurants, and generally treating her like a six year old, to Ginger's horror and Macie's delight. This becomes a point of contention between the two friends, with Ginger worried that Macie might get lost in the farce and Macie eager to regain her parents' attention, leading Macie to openly open her friend's well-intentioned interference to discard. Despite Ginger's fears, Macie has reality firmly in her grasp the entire time, and after commenting that her childhood has grown up again, she assures her friends that she will tell her parents that she is thirteen.

Macie already knew Dodie when they both met Ginger in second grade, and by the beginning of junior high , it seems Macie would have been happy to keep things the way they were, not to be too eager to grow up. Her birthday is April 22nd.

She was last seen in the finale of the series as part of the group at Ginger's book reading.

Bobby and Bobbie Lightfoot

Original English dubbing voices: Michael McKean (Bobby) and Mary Gross (Bobbie)
Macie's father is Bobby Lightfoot, Ph.D. and her mother is called Bobbie Lightfoot, Ph.D. Both are psychologists and a portrait of stereotypical modern parents. Bobbie is Asian and Bobby is Caucasian.

Patterson family

Darren Patterson

Original English dubbing voice: Kenny Blank
Ginger's longtime friend and neighbor Darren Patterson is 13 years old and another member of Ginger's closest circle of friends. He is calm, reliable and down to earth. While not exactly a geek / outsider, Darren's cumbersome orthodontics has been a serious drag on his popularity. His other main problem is that his brother Will and father, who are both loud, tough, and athletic, think he has a way too soft manner. All of that changed when he got his braces removed and immediately became attractive and popular.

He met briefly with Miranda Killgallen and at one point thought Courtney was interested in him. Both times he put Ginger in an uncomfortable position. He declares his love for Ginger when she drives away in "Family Foutley on Ice," after which they became a couple. After their relationship goes through some trouble, Darren leaves Ginger for an older cheerleader named Simone (whom he saw behind her back). This hurts Ginger so much that she decides to take him out of her life completely.

In the series finale, Darren and Simone still date each other, but when he sees Ginger and Orion together, he looks visibly upset and uncomfortable. Be that as it may, a look ahead shows that Ginger and Darren will get married and have a child.

Will Patterson

Original English
voiceover
voice: Guy Torry Darren's older brother, 16 years old, high school junior, licensed driver and major tormentor Will Patterson has the reverse school status of his brother. He's one of the most popular kids in high school. He has a group of girls who follow him in school and is the soccer star on the field. He takes his role as an older brother very seriously. In distress Courtney , Macie throws a pool party for her advanced French class (of which Will is a student). When Will sees Darren, he picks him up and tosses him in the pool, even after Darren claims he'll rust (as far as his braces are concerned). Ginger, Dodie and Macie also bring down a party in Die coole Party , at which Will will chug the lemonades. In "The New One," Ginger asks Will to come to a party she throws for the new girl, but he refuses until he finds out it's in a morgue . Occasionally he offers brotherly advice to Darren; In the series finale, "Greatest Happiness on Earth," he gives Darren a little bit of advice on how to deal with his devastated relationship with Ginger, but he quickly turns the conversation around to center himself.

Mr. Patterson

Original English voiceover : Billy Brown
Darren and Will's father is known for his head noogies . In "Hello Stranger" he gives Ginger a head-noogie to congratulate her on her poem. He claims his noogies head was working for him when he was trying to get a date with Mrs. Patterson on "Foutley On Ice".

Mrs. Patterson

Original English voiceover : Ja'net Dubois
Darren and Will's mother is shown only a few times in the entire series. In Never can say goodbye , she screamed with delight when she saw her little boy (Darren) without his braces. In the episode "Family Foutley on Ice" you can also see Darren inquiring about a period of depression when Ginger is spending the semester at the Avalanche Academy. In the series finale, she appeared to be ticked off with her two sons after finding out she was supposed to receive an invitation to the wedding from Foutley, but never did. This means that she was completely unaware of Darren's infidelity to Ginger, but Darren can surprisingly be seen at the wedding.

Gripling family

Courtney Gripling

Original English
voiceover
voice: Liz Georges Courtney Claire Gripling is 12 years old. She is the most popular girl in Lucky Jr. High (although she struggles to fit into high school). Courtney may not be particularly smart, but not typically blonde: she's taking an advanced language course, which Macie also takes, and is very curious about the world around her, especially the world outside of her family's millionaire lifestyle. She's also knowledgeable about fashion and the complex code of conduct necessary to become and stay popular in middle school, although throughout the series it is shown that even Courtney can fail at times. She can be mean and superficial, judging people by their clothes (on one occasion Ginger asks her forgiveness for a particularly well-chosen outfit Ginger wore to school) and insensitive to those who are less popular, but she can also be caring like attentive friend. Courtney is very naive because she grew up sheltered, worried about how a vacuum cleaner works, what happens in normal summer camps and sometimes even how genuine care and acceptance are. This leads her to quickly bond with those who show sincere affection for her. Courtney liked Ginger early on and wanted to see how Ginger would survive if she were brought into an environment popular with all children. To her surprise, Ginger managed to make it, and the two became real friends, and it is for Ginger that Courtney's sincere affections are often judged. Most importantly, she drove to Ginger's home to thank her for preventing her lice infection from spreading publicly, traveled to Avalanche Arts to convince her to return, and warned Ginger of a plan to get her from her boyfriend Separating Darren, although some of her own close friends were part of the plan.

In A Home For Courtney, Courtney's mother has to stay in the hospital after getting an infection from a facelift. Courtney then spends more time with Ging's mother Lois as a temporary replacement. It leads Courtney to stay at Ginger's house for a couple of nights. Ginger quickly becomes jealous of the natural mother-daughter relationship Courtney and Lois have. In Such a hype on the hustle and bustle! Ginger invited Darren to the County Fair without consulting her regular companions, Dodie and Macie. Dodie then takes revenge by inviting Courtney. At the fair, Courtney, as Ginger put it, "has to try everything", whereupon she is very intrigued that such a lifestyle exists.

Courtney's main love interest throughout the series is Darren's older brother Will, though the latter is usually either ignorant or disinterested. Courtney's reasons for going to public school remain unexplained. Her younger brother, Blake, also attends a public school. It could be that, similar to the Archie Comics character Veronica Lodge , her father enrolled her in public schools to avoid being pampered - without any success. Courtney sometimes refers to Macie as "Stacey" or "Kacey" and Dodie as "Potie". As girls in Courtney's close circle, Ginger, Miranda, Mipsy, Missy, Mindy, Traci, Stacey, Kacie, Donna, Diva, Dinah, Heather, Lonnie, and Hope were included (not all at once). These members are changing: they were added and dropped out as the series progressed (with the exception of Miranda, Mipsy, and Ginger).

Blake Gripling

Original English dubbing voice: Tara Strong (pilot); Kath Soucie (Series)
Blake Sofia Gripling is Courtney's younger brother. He is the youngest of the main cast and is 7 years old, but also Carl and Hoodsey's classmate because he skipped a few classes because of his intellect. He is spoiled, sneaky while being a gentleman; and although he's always at odds with Carl, he wants to be his best friend. But when Carl rejects him from time to time (while trying to humiliate him in the process), Blake tries to defeat the youngest Foutley whenever he can. Blake dislikes Hoodsey (whom he sometimes calls "Woodsey") and doesn't get along very well with his sister Courtney. Winston, the Griplings' butler, is sort of a father figure to Blake and is often involved in his plans. He was named Blake as part of a family tradition so his initials "BG" would match the initials on his baby blanket, a family heirloom.

Claire Gripling

Original English
voiceover
voice: Candi Milo Claire Gripling is Courtney and Blake's mother who believes in their children. It has been revealed that she and Courtney take a trip to Paris every spring to see the new fashions. Still, Claire has to learn a lot to be a good person. In Trouble in Girlfriends Land, Claire agrees to have Hoodsey pose as a street boy so she can win the Country Club Board member election. In A Home for Courtney , Claire goes to the hospital after a bad facelift .

Prescott Gripling

Original English voiceover : Sam McMurray
Ginger met Prescott Gripling, Courtney and Blake's father on Friday the 13th because they never missed a dinner there that doesn't start without him on the loudspeaker of his phone while everyone else eats. In The Greatest Happiness on Earth , it was revealed that he was arrested for insider trading. In order to atone for all crimes and all other punishments against him, all of his family property is taken from him.

Winston

Original English dubbing voice: John Kassir
Winston is the loyal butler of The Griplings and Sidekick to Blake. Winston is more of a fatherly figure to Courtney and Blake than Prescott ever was. He has never married and has no children and sees the Griplings as his surrogate family and not just his employers. He is often involved in Blake's latest plans to ruin Carl Foutley.

Killgallen family

Miranda Killgallen

Original English
voiceover : Cree Summer Miranda Killgallen is Courtney's "right-hand man" and possibly the dirtiest girl in school and serves as Ginger's main antagonist on the series. Miranda's dislike of Ginger is not only based on completely different personalities, but above all on her fear that "Foutley" could replace her as Courtney's best friend. On top of that, both Miranda and Ginger have a romantic interest in Ian Richton. Miranda thwarted Ginger by all kinds of means, including manipulation ( He loves me, he doesn't love me! ), Blackmail ( A Hairy Business ), false allegations ( The Witch Hunt , The Birthday Present), backstabbing ( One Bad Game ), and Bribery ( Family Foutley on Ice ). She has failed every attempt to make Ginger look bad, and even raised her popularity a few times. Sometimes even "tough girl" Miranda is shown to have her weak points.

On more than one occasion, it is revealed that she has a difficult relationship with her strict parents and that she has few real friends. When Ginger found out about this, she felt sorry for her. In Trouble in Girlfriends Land , Miranda is left without friends when she and Courtney temporarily expire; Macie explains it's because nobody likes her. Miranda is also revealed to be not a good friend of Courtney's when, when Courtney briefly lost her popularity to Hope Rogers, Miranda wasted no time in giving up Courtney to join Hope's clique. Aside from her wickedness, Miranda's hallmarks are her sharp, sarcastic comments.

Miranda is partially of African American descent, but in the original version of the pilot, Miranda would be an all white girl with brunette hair.

Officer Killgallen

Original English voiceover voice: Richard McGonagle
Miranda's father is a police officer . Miranda took advantage of this when in The Birthday Present she convinced Ginger to steal a bank entrance sign, give it to Courtney as a gift, and then call her father to report the robbery. In holiday at Camp Caprice he runs a military camp, where Miranda and Darren students.

Mrs. Killgallen

It was never clear whether Miranda's mother was still alive or currently (if at all) married to her father, as she was never shown or even mentioned. When Macie asks Miranda if she's ever said anything nice to her mother and father (in trouble in girlfriends land ), Miranda is not surprised by the question. Miranda also makes references to her parents in Solo for Ginger , so it can be assumed that Miranda's mother is alive and well.

Higsby family

Brandon Higsby and Mr. Licorice

Original English dubbing voices: Gray DeLisle (Brandon) and Dee Bradley Baker (Mr. Licorice)
Brandon Higsby is one of Carl's annoying classmates. He's extremely hyperactive, a constant hacker, and considers Carl and Hoodsey to be his closest friends. In reality, he has no friends, but his parents think he is popular. His only true friend seems to be Mr. Licorice, his pet, a monkey and at the same time the hand of his older brother Stuart. Mr. Licorice doesn't seem to like Brandon very much, however.

Stuart Higsby

Original English dubbing voice: Chris Marquette
Stuart Hedsby is the savior of all forgetful and lazy children at Lucky Jr. High. He runs a shop in the boys' washroom where people can buy prepackaged book reports from him at a reasonable price. At one point Darren became aware of him when Ginger was blackmailed into writing Miranda's report on The Call of the Wild in Pretty Hairy . He owns a monkey named Mr. Licorice, which he eventually gives to his little brother Brandon.

Mr. and Mrs. Higsby

Original English voice-over: Dee Bradley Baker (Mr. Higsby) and Sally Struthers (Mrs. Higsby)
Mr. and Mrs. Higsby are Brandon and Stuart's parents. While Mrs. Higsby makes sure that shoes are taken off the house, feet are taken off the furniture, and little boys do not get hyperactive, Mr. Higsby is responsible for recording everything with his reliable video camera.

Teachers and school workers

Headmaster Milty

Remarks

  1. In the English original, the city where Ginger and Co. live is titled Sheltered Shrubs. On the other hand, the German content information from fernsehserien.de and originally kika.de speaks of Winslow County as home. In American, county does not mean a city, but an administrative district that corresponds to the German district.
