Flavien Conne (born April 1, 1980 in Puidoux ) is a former Swiss ice hockey player who played for HC Lugano in the Swiss National League A for 14 years . He also played for the Swiss national ice hockey team for many years .

Career

Flavien Conne began his career at HC Servette Genève . In the 1996/97 season he gained his first experience in professional ice hockey, when the winger appeared in 35 games in the National League B and collected 19 points scorer. In the following season he managed to increase his hit rate and to achieve 29 points in 40 games. Then the first division club HC Ambrì-Piotta took him under contract, where he made his debut in the top Swiss league during the same season. Between 1998 and 2000 he went on the ice for Friborg-Gottéron . Conne qualified with the club twice for the play-offs and was defeated in the first round against HC Lugano . He was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2000 by the Los Angeles Kings in the eighth round at a total of 250th position, but never signed by the Kings. He then moved to HC Lugano. In his first season he became an integral part of the team and was one of the Ticino regulars in the years that followed. He was part of the team that won the Swiss championship in 2003 and 2006 . At European level, he achieved third place in the IIHF Continental Cup with Lugano in 2003 and 2004 .

He retired in June 2014 after his 2013-14 season was marked by a number of injuries. For HC Lugano he scored 95 goals and 151 assists in a total of 589 games.

The right winger took part in various tournaments with the Swiss national ice hockey team. The best results he achieved at the 2000 World Cup and the 2006 Winter Olympics with the Swiss selection took sixth place.
