Florian Schnitzer (born January 28, 1981 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen ) is a German ice hockey player who last played for the Bietigheim Steelers in the 2nd Bundesliga .

Career

Schnitzer went through the youth teams of SC Riessersee and managed to establish himself in the professional team. The left shooter played there in the 2nd Bundesliga until 2003 , before the bankruptcy of the club made a sporting future in Garmisch-Partenkirchen impossible. Schnitzer then signed a contract for the 2003/04 season with the Straubing Tigers , who also played in the 2nd Bundesliga. The winger had a successful season there, after which he switched to the Krefeld Penguins in the German Ice Hockey League in the following season . After a year in Krefeld, Schnitzer went to Hamburg in 2005, where he played 165 games in the Freezers' jersey in three years .

From 2008 to 2010, the player, who is considered a good all-rounder, was back on the ice for the Straubing Tigers. Schnitzer's first season in Straubing was marked by injuries, however, in January 2009 the attacker broke his metatarsus, which is why the season ended prematurely for him. Only the second season he was able to complete without injuries and reached 14 points scorer in 50 games. After his contract in Straubing expired, the right-wing shooter switched to the Augsburg Panthers in 2010 , with whom he signed a one-year contract. At the beginning of 2013 he moved to the Bietigheim Steelers in the 2nd Bundesliga .
