The Aasiaat airport ( IATA: JEG , ICAO: BGAA ) is an airport , which is approximately 1.9 kilometers northeast of Aasiaat , a settlement of the community Qeqertalik in western Greenland is. Although there are no de-icing systems, it can be approached by so-called STOL aircraft. The lack of de-icing facilities is a problem, especially in the Greenland winter, and is very costly.

Air Greenland operates flights to the Aasiaat archipelago that have been contractually agreed with the Greenland government . These flights, mostly cargo flights, are not on the schedule , although they can be booked in advance. The departure times are deliberately only given provisionally, as the flights are tailored to demand.

Flights to the surrounding areas of Disko Bay (settlement flights) are unique as they are only carried out in winter and spring. These settlements are the ferries during the summer and autumn Disko Line approached.
