The Olaya Herrera Airport ( Spanish Aeropuerto Olaya Herrera , IATA code : EOH , ICAO code : SKMD ) is the City -airport the second largest Colombian city of Medellin . It only serves national destinations, while international destinations can also be reached from Rionegro Airport in Rionegro , which is about 50 km away .
The airport was named after the Colombian president Enrique Olaya Herrera (term 1930 - 1934 named and is the only airport in the) list of National Monuments of Colombia listed.

Incidents
- On November 30, 1996 a de Havilland Canada DHC-6-300 Twin Otter of ACES Colombia ( aircraft registration HK-2602 ) collided after taking off from Medellin-Olaya Herrera airport while climbing eight kilometers west of it with the Padre Amaya mountain, just below of the 2180 meter high summit. Of the 15 occupants, 14 were killed, both pilots and 12 of the 13 passengers.
