The Katima Mulilo Airport ( english Katima Mulilo Airport ; also Mpacha Airport ) is the airport of the town of Katima Mulilo in Namibia . The airport is located on the B8 national road around 10 kilometers southwest of the city and has a 2,292 meter runway.

Mpacha Airport served as a modern SADF base for operations and helicopter missions in Angola during apartheid . The guerrilla actions of SWAPO , which have intensified since 1973 , initially triggered operations by the South African Police and, since 1975, increasingly by military security forces.

Air Namibia operates regular flights to Eros Airport in Windhoek and via Rundu Airport . From March 29, 2015, the route will be served by Hosea Kutako International Airport instead of Eros .
