background
One day before the album was released, Swift first announced the album on their social media accounts. On the day of publication, in addition to lyric videos for all 16 tracks of the standard album, the music video for the first single Cardigan was released. The physical edition of the album contains the bonus track The Lakes .
Cover design
The album cover of the standard edition shows Swift standing alone in a forest and is in black and white. It does not contain the album title or the artist name. The 8 physical special editions each have their own album cover.
