Taylor Swift is the debut album by the American singer Taylor Swift . It was released in the United States on October 24, 2006 on the Big Machine Records label. In 2007 a deluxe edition of the album including DVD was released. The album was released in Germany in 2008.

Cover design
The standard edition album cover shows Taylor Swift looking at the viewer. In the background, which is kept in bright colors, butterflies can be seen. Chart successes and singles
Taylor Swift reached number 5 in the US album charts and stayed in the top 200 for a total of 275 weeks. In the United Kingdom, after the release of its successor Fearless in 2009, it entered the charts at number 81 and stayed in the top 100 for three weeks. In contrast, it could not place itself in the German charts.
The five singles Tim McGraw , Teardrops on My Guitar , Our Song , Picture to Burn and Should've Said No that were released from the album all reached quite high positions in the US charts and were there with at least one platinum record for each more more than a million copies sold.
