However, this is not the version of the album, but a different version with a different guitar solo, which was recorded in the Astia Studios together with the WASP cover version Hellion . For the album, which was later recorded, the song Hate Me! completely re-recorded. The single reached number 1 in the Finnish charts.

Trivia

  • The quote at the beginning of the title song “ Death, be not proud, though some have called thee / Mighty and dreadful, for thou art not so. ”Comes from a poem by John Donne . At the end of the song you can hear a sample from the film Der Exorcist III .
  • At the beginning of the song Taste Of My Scythe another sample from Der Exorzist III appears.
  • The Finnish Humppa band Eläkeläiset performed with Hate Me! on their 2006 album Humppasirkus for the first time a song by Children of Bodom. The title parodied in Finnish was ” Vihaan Humppa ” (German: “I hate Humppa”) and was played significantly faster than the original.
