François Bussini

François Jacques Bussini (born May 21, 1936 in Sallanches , Haute-Savoie , France ; † October 13, 2018 in Besançon ) was a French clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Amiens .

Life

François Bussini was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Besançon on July 5, 1965 . He studied at the Sorbonne in Paris and at the University of Strasbourg and obtained a degree in philosophy and a doctorate in theology . From 1970 he was professor of fundamental theology at the Catholic Theological Faculty of Strasbourg.

Pope Paul VI appointed him on December 12, 1977 titular bishop of Febiana and auxiliary bishop in Grenoble . The Archbishop of Besançon, Marc-Armand Lallier , donated him episcopal ordination on March 4, 1978; Co- consecrators were Gabriel Matagrin , Bishop of Grenoble , and Lucien Daloz , Bishop of Langres .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Amiens on December 28, 1985 and accepted his resignation on March 6, 1987, after less than 15 months in office.
