Francesco Ansaldo Teloni

Francesco Ansaldo Teloni (born October 8, 1760 in Treia , Marken , † January 31, 1846 ) was an Italian clergyman and bishop of Macerata and Tolentino .

Life

His parents were Giammaria Teloni and Cesarina de 'Bezzi. Francesco Ansaldo Teloni received on May 21, 1785 sacrament of Holy Orders . He was then a canon at Senigallia Cathedral , as well as vicar general of the Senigallia diocese and director of the local seminary . He and Andrea Cavalli headed the delegation that the city of Senigallia sent to Pope Pius VII in September 1815 . On June 24, 1816, Francesco Ansaldo Teloni was appointed papal secret chamberlain . The University of Macerata received his doctorate on May 13, 1817 as Doctor iuris utriusque . He then held the position of Rector of the College of Treia and that of Senigallia. At the age of 62 he entered the service of the Curia as papal house prelate and was assigned to the Council Congregation on June 26, 1823 .

Pope Leo XII. appointed Francesco Ansaldo Teloni on May 24, 1824 Bishop of Macerata and Tolentino. He was ordained bishop on May 30th of the same year by Cardinal Bishop of Frascati Francesco Saverio Maria Felice Castiglioni, who later became Pope Pius VIII ; Co-consecrators were the Curia Archbishops Pietro Caprano , secretary of the Congregation Propaganda Fide , and Antonio Luigi Piatti .

Francesco Ansaldo Teloni died on January 31, 1846 after 22 years in the episcopate.
