Francin is a commune Déléguée in the French municipality of Porte-de-Savoie with 991 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Savoie department in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes .

On January 1, 2019, the Francin municipality merged with Les Marches to form the Commune nouvelle Porte-de-Savoie. Since then it has had the status of a Commune déléguée. It previously belonged to the canton of Montmélian in the Arrondissement of Chambéry and was a member of the Cœur de Savoie community association .

Francin is about twelve kilometers south-east of Chambéry and about 42 km north-northeast of Grenoble . Francin's neighboring communities were La Thuile in the north, Montmélian in the east and northeast, Sainte-Hélène-du-Lac in the east, Laissaud in the south, Les Marches in the west and southwest, and Chignin in the northwest. The community was part of the Massif des Bauges Regional Nature Park . In the area of ​​the Commune déléguée lies the motorway triangle of the Autoroute A 41 with the Autoroute A 43 .
