Franciszek Ksawery Zachariasiewicz (born December 1, 1770 in Stanisławów in Poland-Lithuania , † June 12, 1845 in Przemyśl ) was Bishop of Tarnów and Bishop of Przemyśl .

Life

He came from an Armenian family, attended the schools of his hometown, studied theology and philosophy and was on August 8, 1795 in Lviv by Archbishop Jakub Valerian Tumanowicz the Armenian archeparchy of Lviv for priests ordained. He received his doctorate in theology in 1787 and became an associate professor at the Jagiellonian University in 1800 , he was not accepted as a full professor in 1805, so that he had to teach law from 1806 to 1827 . On November 15, 1812 he was with the consent of the Armenian Archbishop Jan Jakub Szymonowiczincardinated as a priest in the Archdiocese of Lemberg in the Latin rite; 1826 rector of the University of Lviv , member of the cathedral chapter and 1835 curator of this body.

Emperor Ferdinand I of Austria appointed him Bishop of Tarnów on September 2, 1835. The confirmation by Pope Gregory XVI. took place on February 1, 1836. It was consecrated on May 12, 1836 by the Archbishop of Lemberg Franz de Paula Pistek . In the diocese of Tarnów, in the cathedral , it was installed on May 12, 1836. He continued the activities of his predecessor, Bishop Pisztek. On March 16, 1840, he was appointed Bishop of Przemyśl by the Emperor and confirmed by the Pope on July 13, 1840.

Its epitaph in Przemyśl Cathedral was destroyed.
