Frank Lehmann (born January 17, 1942 in Berlin ) is a German business journalist specializing in the stock market .

Live and act

Lehmann came from Berlin to Frankfurt am Main in 1954 and attended the drawing school there . After training as an industrial clerk at the Frankfurter Rundschau Lehmann studied business administration and worked as a trainee in Frankfurt in the business news agency vwd -United business services, where he then worked as an editor. Since 1978 he worked as a permanent employee for the Hessischer Rundfunk , where he headed the editorial department of the Tagesschau ( Hessen ) and moderated the Hessenschau and other television programs . From 1984 to 1989 he was also head of the “Hessenschau” and from 1989 to 2001 head of the business editorial department. At the same time he worked on setting up an editorial office for the stock exchange . From 1989, he hosted regularly exchanges coverage in ARD television , ARD Mittagsmagazin , evening news, evening news and other ARD broadcasts. Since August 2001 he has been head of the FS-Börse department . He was the initiator and, from November 2, 2000 to December 29, 2006, one of the moderators of the show Börse in Erste in the ARD, which with up to three million viewers is one of the most successful TV stock market programs in Europe . Lehmann's basic attitude to stock market events is a cautious skepticism, he always warned against uncritical euphoria with this investment. He knew how to garnish his short reports and comments, which were mainly aimed at the "little man", with wit and irony. He was succeeded by the journalist Michael Best .

Frank Lehmann is married and has three children. After working for ARD, he passed on his knowledge of stock market psychology and investor behavior in lectures. Another hobby horse are his Goethe Evenings.

Frank Lehmann is a volunteer member of the Advisory Board for Children's Future and is a jury member of the FINANZFORUM VORDENKEN, which awards the Vordenker Prize.

On August 17, 2010, Lehmann received the honorary award for the Hessian Journalist Prize , which was awarded for the first time.
