Frank Schauer (born April 2, 1989 in Magdeburg ) is a German long-distance runner and was German marathon champion in 2013 .

Career

Frank Schauer was born in Magdeburg and grew up in Kalbe (Milde) . He started running at the age of seven. Frank Schauer began his sporting career at VfL Kalbe / Milde. As a teenager, Frank Schauer attended the sports high school in Magdeburg and switched to SC Magdeburg in 2004 . From 2008 he studied mechanical engineering at the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg.

In 2012, Frank Schauer won the Magdeburg Marathon in 2:31:10 h. In 2013 he won the German University Championship over 10,000 meters in a time of 30: 27.49 minutes.

On October 13, 2013, the German Marathon Championships were held as part of the Munich Marathon . Frank Schauer won in the time of 2:18:56 h. This was his first German championship title.

In 2014 Schauer switched to Tangermünder Elbdeichmarathon eV, which among other things also organizes the marathon event of the same name. In the following year he finished 24th overall at the Hamburg Marathon and was 2nd German with a time of 2:19:46 h.

The German Marathon Championships 2017 took place this year as part of the Frankfurt Marathon . Frank Schauer finished third with a personal best of 2:16:30 h and thus won the bronze medal.
