Frankenberg is a district of the municipality of Speichersdorf in the Upper Franconian district of Bayreuth .

The place is southwest of the core town of Speichersdorf, at the western end of the Speinsharter Forest and at the Almosbach. The district road BT 20 runs through Frankenberg, to the north runs the state road St 2184.

Attractions

In the list of architectural monuments in Speicherersdorf there are two architectural monuments for Frankenberg . Pieces of the castle wall have been preserved in the outer walls of two residential buildings. They are identical to the surrounding wall (castle fortifications) of the destroyed Frankenberg Castle from the 12th / 13th centuries. Century:

The church of the Holy Spirit, inaugurated on May 22, 1955, in the center of the village, which belongs to the Evangelical Lutheran parish of Neustadt am Kulm, is a defining feature of the site. Until the church was built, the faithful accepted a two-hour walk to attend church services in Neustadt am Kulm. The middle of the former church path through the Speinsharter Forest is marked by an hour stone.

Regular events

  • The fun ski race Frankenberg Cup takes place in January or February on the slope of the Siemersleitn (Hohe Hut) in suitable snow conditions and is organized by the sociability association hideaway Frankenberg / Nairitz e. V. and TSV Kirchenlaibach / Speichersdorf.
  • The Kerwa in Frankenberg takes place on the weekend after Ascension Day and is organized by the sociability association hideaway Frankenberg / Nairitz e. V. organizes. In 1955, the town's church was consecrated on the Ascension weekend.
  • The village festival takes place on the second weekend in August and is organized by the Frankenberg volunteer fire department.
