Windischenlaibach is a district of the municipality of Speichersdorf in the Upper Franconian district of Bayreuth .

location

The village lies in the open, about 1.5 km southwest of Speichersdorf. Settlement areas have joined the old town, especially in the east, and an industrial area to the west. The state road 2184 through the town in east-west direction, more roads lead to Nairitz and Brüderes .

history

The place was first mentioned in 1398 as Windischleubein and around 1493 it was called Windischlewben . A Michael Boit became the country man . Around 1536 the place was named under the jurisdiction of the district jurisdiction of the offices of Waldeck and Bayreuth. During the Thirty Years War in 1623 billeting and looting by marauding troops under Colonel von Schaumburg are recorded.

The Bavarian original cadastre shows Windischenlaibach in the 1810s as a clustered village with 37 hearths and three ponds . According to the municipal edict in the 19th century, Windischenlaibach consisted of the main town and the district of Hundsmühle , the area of ​​the municipality was about 273  hectares . A school building of their own was built in 1907, electrification began in 1912 and the first public telephone connection was available in 1922.

In 1971, as part of the municipal reform, it expanded to include the previously independent municipality of Nairitz with the districts of Nairitz, Kellerhut and Weiherhut . In 1972 the community of Windischenlaibach came to Speichersdorf itself.
