Nairitz is a district of the municipality of Speichersdorf in the Upper Franconian district of Bayreuth .
location
The village is located about three kilometers southwest of Speichersdorf in the valley of the Erlbach, a right tributary of the Haidenaab , and naturally between the southwestern Franconian Switzerland and the northwestern Fichtelgebirge . The place is structurally connected to the neighboring Kodlitz .
history
The place and its castle have been an ancestral seat of the von Lindenfels family since the 15th century .
The Bavarian original cadastre shows Nairitz in the 1810s as a clustered village with 29 hearths and a pond . The formerly freely meandering Erlbach was straightened north of the castle and fed the pond, which is silted up or filled in today. Past private graves were located northwest of the castle. Two chestnut trees are protected as natural monuments there.
