The Burg Frankenberg are the remains of a castle in Frankenberg (house no. 12 and 13), in the municipality of storage village in the district of Bayreuth in Bavaria .
The castle was built around 1220 by ministerials von Frankenberg, mentioned in 1329 and destroyed in 1461/62 and in the Thirty Years War . Reconstruction took place in 1665. The gentlemen von Birkensee are named as other owners.
Remnants of the circular wall ( remnants of humpback cubes ) from the former castle complex are integrated in the south and west outside of a farmhouse and in the south side of a residential building.
