French women's football championship 1974/75

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The French women's football championship 1974/75 was the first play of this title after the official recognition of women's football by the French Football Association in 1970. The comparable competitions between the world wars remained unofficial, especially since they were organized by an all-women sports association.

The 1974/75 championship - there was no top league in France before 1992 - was played in a mixture of group play - and knockout mode ; In order to take part in the nationwide final round, the women's teams had to qualify at the regional level beforehand. The players from Stade Reims were the winners of this event and the first French women champions .

Preliminary round

The 16 qualified teams were divided into four groups from a regional point of view, in which each club competed once against each other. The two best in the group reached the quarter-finals. In the event of a tie - the two-point rule applied  - the better goal difference was decisive.
