Division 1 Féminine 2020/21

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 2020/21 season of Division 1 Féminine is the 47th edition of the French women's football championship since the official recognition of women's football in 1970 by the FFF, the football association of France , and the first in the 1974/75 season . The Division 1 Féminine called league is in pure League mode played in a group consisting of a single group, comprising twelve teams, national top division; in this mode it is the 29th championship. The defending champions are the women of Olympique Lyon .
The league's name sponsor has been the chemical company Arkema , which has signed a three-year contract with the FFF since 2019 .

After all national gaming operations were initially suspended in the previous season due to the virus pandemic in March 2020 and then finally canceled in mid-May, it has not yet been definitively determined whether this new season will begin on September 5, 2020 - as planned - and continue on September 5, 2020. June 2021 can end. A winter break is planned from December 14th to January 15th. The main day of the match remains Saturday, as the pay-TV channel Canal + wishes, which again intends to broadcast all 132 point games - mainly on its specialty channel Foot + . In addition, there could be a broadcast date on Friday evening this season.

In this season, the FFF is taking a step towards professionalising female referees . Four referees ( Alexandra Collin , Savina Elbour and the FIFA referees Victoria Beyer and Maika Vanderstichel ) and four line judges will be financially equipped so that they can concentrate on their sporting activities.

Qualification and mode of competition

For the eligibility to participate, only the performance of the women's teams in the previous season is taken into account; The ten best-placed teams as well as two promoted teams who each finished their group in Division 2 Féminine as first in the table are qualified . The following twelve participants start this season:

For Le Havre, which was only promoted to the second division in 2018, participation is a first. For Soyaux and Issy, the only two all-women clubs, the responsible association commission DNCG (Direction Nationale du Contrôle de Gestion) has an upper limit for each Personnel expenses fixed.

The championship is played in a double round of points in which each participant competes in home and away games against each other. The usual " three-point rule " applies with three points for a win, one for a draw and none for a loss; In the event of a tie, the direct comparison first and, if necessary, then the better total goal difference , if there is still a tie, the higher number of hits, if applicable, is decisive. At the end of the season, the two bottom of the table have to be relegated, who will be replaced for the coming season by two promoted teams - the winners of the two groups in the second division.

The French champions as well as the runners-up in Division 1 Féminine qualify for the women's European Cup competition of the following season .

Change of club

In contrast to the sporting stalemate, many clubs had been very active on the transfer market by mid-July. The most notable club changes - although the return of only loaned players is not mentioned here - included the departures of Lucy Bronze , Alex Greenwood , Lisa Weiß and Emelyne Laurent - who will be loaned again and will wear the Atlético Madrid dress - as well as the New signing of Sakina Karchaoui from Montpellier, Dolores Gallardo (Atlético Madrid), Sara Björk Gunnarsdóttir ( VfL Wolfsburg ), Ellie Carpenter ( Portland Thorns ) and Jodie Taylor from Lyon's American "sister club" OL Reign . Ramona Bachmann and goalkeeper Charlotte Voll (previously SC Sand ) are new to Paris Saint-Germain ; they are to replace Katarzyna Kiedrzynek (to Wolfsburg) and Eve Périsset (to Bordeaux) in particular . In addition to the departure of Karchaoui, Montpellier also has to cope with those of Sandie Toletti to UD Levante and Valérie Gauvin to FC Everton , including Dominika Škorvánková from Munich and Leonie Pankratz ( TSG 1899 Hoffenheim ) new in the squad. Erin Nayler and Viviane Asseyi , who will wear the Bayern Munich dress in future, are leaving Bordeaux ; for this Elena Linari signed a new contract with the Girondines .

PFC, the second club in the capital, reports the arrival of Daphné Corboz from Fleury, who also loses Julie Machart-Rabanne (to newcomer Issy), Stine Larsen , Rikke Sevecke and Kelly Gadéa , but with Anja Sønstevold and Julia Spetsmark it is filling its "Scandinavian department" and with ex-national player Léa Le Garrec, a returnee from England signed up. Dijon, where Élise Bussaglia ended her career, has grown with Salma Amani from Issy and Desire Oparanozie from Guingamp. The Australian national player Laura Alleway-Brock signed a contract with Guingamp .

In terms of coaches, only two first division partners - Paris FC with Sandrine Soubeyrand and Stade Reims with Amandine Miquel  - continue to entrust a woman to the executive chair. (As of August 15, 2020)
