Division 1 Féminine 2011/12

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 2011/12 season of Division 1 Féminine was the 38th playing of the French women's football championship since the official recognition of women's football by the FFF, the French Football Association , in 1970 and the first in the 1974/75 season . The Division 1 Féminine called league was in pure League mode played in a group consisting of a single group, comprising twelve teams, national top division.

Last year's winners were the women of Olympique Lyon , who were able to defend their title and thus won their sixth championship. OL thus drew level with the record titleholders of VGA Saint-Maur and Juvisy FCF .

Qualification and mode of competition

For the eligibility to participate, only the performance of the women's teams in the previous season was taken into account; Qualified were the nine best-placed teams of the previous season as well as three promoted teams, who had each finished their group in Division 2 Féminine as first in the table. In addition, before the start of the season, the women's football department of Stade Saint-Brieuc had joined the (men's) professional club En Avant from neighboring Guingamp after 18 years of membership in the first division , which also took over the starting place for the Briochins . Thus the following twelve participants started this season:

The championship was played in a double round of points in which each participant competed in home and away games against each other. The " modified three-point rule " , which was also common in French amateur football well into the 21st century, applied with four points for a win, two for a draw and one for a defeat won on the field; In the event of a tie, the direct comparison and, if necessary, then the better total goal difference , if there was still a tie, the higher number of hits, if applicable, were decisive. At the end of the season, the three bottom of the table had to be relegated, who were replaced for the coming season by three promoted teams - the winners of the three groups in the second division.

The French champions as well as the runners-up in Division 1 Féminine qualified for the women's European Cup competition the following season .

a In a direct comparison between Soyaux and Muret, points and goals were tied, so that the higher number of away goals scored was the decisive factor in favor of the ASJ.

At the end of the row, Juvisy led the table with 39 points ahead of Lyon (38), Montpellier (37) and Paris (35), and even Saint-Étienne seemed within reach with 30 points. In the second half of the season, however, the defending champions did not give up a single point, while Saint-Étienne and PSG could no longer keep up. And since Juvisy and Montpellier not only lost to Olympique, but also left points in their direct encounter (0-0), Lyons women won the championship again and were even able to celebrate one game day before the end of the season. With their 119 goals they also improved their own league record, which came from the 2006/07 season and stood at 116 goals.

In the end, the middle of the table consisted of only one team (Paris), because from fifth place the relegation zone began, in which six women's teams fought against, even in front of their own audience, the newcomers Soyaux and Muret (both at home without a win, but with eleven or ten defeats) in the second division. Saint-Étienne benefited from having created a solid point cushion in the first half of the season. On the other hand, it was of little use to the women from Hénin that they had scored the most points of all opponents in the direct duels of these six threatened teams; because they couldn't win at home against Soyaux and Muret at the same time, at the end of their 13th first division season they were missing a single point to stay in the league.
From Division 2 Féminine rose for the following season of Arras FCF , FF Issy and FC Toulouse .

The champions' players

Olympiques coach Patrice Lair had the following female soccer players in his season squad (the number of point matches in brackets):

Lyons scored 119 goals: Le Sommer 22, Schelin 20, Abily, Thomis 15 each, Dickenmann, Nécib, Renard 9 each, Henry 8, Rosana 4, Bompastor, Franco 2 each, Brétigny, Cruz Traña, Majri and Otaki 1 each.

The two goalkeepers were defeated by only three opponents taken together: Sarah Bouhaddi from Marine Pervier (Montpellier) and Gaëtane Thiney (Juvisy), Celine Deville from Aurélie Desmaretz (Hénin-Beaumont).
