French snooker championship

The French Snooker Championship is a national competition to determine the French champion in the snooker version of billiards .

history

The competition has its origins in the 1990s. In 1991, Eric Le Paul won the competition for the first time. A year later, Luc defeated Allain Yannick Poulain . Allain lost two years later, in 1993 Eric Robaine had won, against Sylvain Clamousse . In 1995 Le Paul became French champion for the second time, defeating Sylvain Clamousse. A year later he lost to Yannick Poulain. A year later he was able to defend his title, defeating Sylvain Clamousse. In 1998 Gregory Kopec managed to win the title. A year later David Gillet defeated Eric Le Paul in the final and became French champions for the first time, Gillet lost 2: 3 in 2000 to Sylvain Clamousse, who won the title for the second time. 2001 Eric Le Paul achieved the third league title by defeating Yannick Poulain 3-0. However, this was in the two following years French champion twice; first with 4-0 against Markku Hattu , then with a 3-2 against Le Paul. In 2004 Jean Beauchamp defeated Johan Lorek 3-2 in the final. Lorek, who lost to Laurent Carcel in the final the next year , won the title two years later. In 2006 and 2008 Poulain won again and became the French record champion with 6 titles. David Palmiero won the tournament in 2009 and 2010.

In 2015 Niel Vincent defeated Nathanael Beckrich 3-0. In the following years, too, the final score was 3-0, with Alexis Callewaert defeating Bruno Peigne in 2016 and Neil Vincent Brian Ochoiski in 2017 . Ochoiski became champions in 2018 when he defeated Alexis Callewaert 3-1. He won his second title the following year with a 3-1 win against Nicolas Mortreux .
