Georgian Snooker Championship

The Georgian Snooker Championship is a national tournament to determine the Georgian champion in the snooker billiards discipline , which has been held annually since 2016. With three out of four possible titles, Nodar Bakradze is the tournament's record winner.

The tournament, hosted by the Georgian Snooker Federation, took place for the first time in 2016 with 16 players, when Sandro Kadagidze became the first winner of the tournament with a 7-4 win over Nodar Bakradze . Bakradze was able to win the tournament with a 4-2 victory over Lekso Jangulashvili a year later in the Georgian capital Tbilisi as one of 24 participants and defended both in 2018 in the Metropool in Tbilisi against Gocha Kavtaradze 4-0 as well as in 2019 The Star Snooker Academy, located in Tbilisi, again won his title 4: 1 against Lekso Jangulashvili, while despite the low level of awareness of the sport in Georgia, the number of participants rose year on year to 28 in 2018 and 35 in 2019.

In 2019, after the number of participants had been reduced to 16 through previous games, the title was played in the knockout system from the round of 16 . Up to and including the quarterfinals, the game was played in the best of 5 frames mode , followed by the semi-finals and the final in the best of 7 frames mode .
