Malaysian Snooker Championship

The Malaysian Snooker Championship is a competition to determine the national champion in snooker billiards in Malaysia .

The national snooker championship in Malaysia was first held in 1986 and then took place annually. There was no competition in 2001, 2011, 2012 and 2018. In 2019, the 30th championship title was awarded.

Title holder

Record holders are Sam Chong , who won five titles between 1989 and 1999, and Thor Chuan Leong , who won for the first time in 2009. At that time he was 21 years old, making him the youngest title holder in championship history. Elvin Lean is the oldest title holder, when he won in 2015 he was 52 years old. He improved the record of Ng Ann Seng, who became Malaysian champion in 2005 at the age of 47. Liew Kit Fatt was the only player to win the title three times in a row from 1991 to 1993.
