Franz Prucher

Franz Prucher (born December 28, 1955 in Graz ) is an Austrian civil servant and police lawyer who served as the state police director of Lower Austria from 2012 to 2017 .

Professional background

Franz Prucher joined the Federal Police Directorate in Vienna on July 1, 1976 and, after completing his basic training, served in the District Police Department Döbling and Hernals .

On 10 October 1980, he graduated in Baden and completed subsequent to the University of Vienna to study law , where he April 2, 1985 graduation ceremony for master's had. This was followed by transfer to employment group A1 and service in the Simmering , Favoriten , Wieden , Mariahilf and Innere Stadt district police stations . The doctorate to Dr. iur .

On February 1, 2003 Prucher became head of the district police commissioner Fünfhaus and it received the official title of Hofrat . On February 18, 2003 he was appointed Security Director for Lower Austria.

On September 1, 2012, he became the State Police Director of Lower Austria. This new function has replaced the security director and the state police commander since the security authorities were restructured in 2012 . He has two deputies: Major General Franz Popp , which since the change of Arthur Rice , the Regional Police Command leads and the already existing deputy, the head of the State Office for State Protection and Counter Terrorism , Councilor Rudolf Slamanig .

On July 1, 2017, Prucher moved to the General Directorate for Public Security in the Ministry of the Interior . On September 1, 2017, he was succeeded by the previous General Director for Public Security, Konrad Kogler , in the position of State Police Director .
