Franz Weichenberger

Franz Weichenberger (* 1960 in Linz ) is an Austrian actor .

Life

After graduating from high school, Franz Weichenberger completed a law degree , which he completed with a doctorate in law . From 1983 he also studied acting at what was then the Bruckner Conservatory (today's Anton Bruckner Private University ) in Linz, graduating in 1986 with a diploma. During his studies he had small guest appearances at the Landestheater Linz and worked in various tour productions, including Fear and Misery of the Third Reich and The Caucasian Chalk Circle .

Under the directorship of Bruno Felix he was engaged for two years at the Kornmarkttheater in Bregenz , then from 1988 he was an ensemble member at the Tiroler Landestheater for more than ten years under the directorship of Helmut Wlasak and Dominique Mentha , he had guest contracts under the directorship of Brigitte Fassbaender . As a result, he had engagements at the Bregenz Festival Hall , the Bruneck City Theater , in Salzburg, St. Pölten, Coburg, Schwäbisch Hall, Villach, Linz and Vienna. The roles he embodies include, for example, Kinesias in Lysistrata , the title role in Ajax , Jason in Medea , Stanley Kowalski in Endstation Sehnsucht , Adolf Hitler in Mein Kampf by George Tabori , Andreas Hofer in Gespenster by Wolfgang Hermann and various roles in works by William Shakespeare and Johann Nestroy .

In 2017 he was in front of the camera, directed by Reinhold Bilgeri, for the film Erik & Erika about the ski racer Erik Schinegger . In addition to his work as an actor, he has been a funeral orator since 2007 .
