Frederic Löhe (born August 12, 1988 in Engelskirchen ) is a German soccer goalkeeper .

Career

Löhe, who had started playing football at TuS Elsenroth as a four-year-old and was initially used in the storm, moved to FV Wiehl in the D-Jugend. There he was the biggest player in his team after injuring the goalkeeper in a cup game between the posts. In the following period he received an invitation to a viewing course at the DFB base in Bergneustadt for the first time. Both there and in his club, however, he initially played again as an outfield player in midfield.

In the C2 youth, Löhe moved to 1. FC Köln , where he had already trained as a goalkeeper during his time in Wiehl, after he had noticed the Cologne managers at the DFB base training. In 2004 he moved from the youth department of 1. FC Köln after the B2 youth to the youth department of the Rhenish rival Borussia Mönchengladbach . In the 2007/08 season he was the third goalkeeper in the licensed team behind Kasey Keller and Christofer Heimeroth and traveled to the training camp with the professional team for the first time in January 2007, where he was able to convince assistant coach Jos Luhukay , so that he remained with the professionals from now on . Löhe took this as an opportunity to finish his education after graduating from high school.

Between 2006 and 2012, Frederic Löhe played a total of 86 games in the second team of Borussia Mönchengladbach in the Regionalliga Nord , Regionalliga West and Oberliga Nordrhein . On October 28, 2008 he made his Bundesliga debut against VfL Wolfsburg (3-0) because Uwe Gospodarek was injured and Heimeroth was only the second goalkeeper on the bench. For the 2010/11 season, Löhe was loaned to third division club SV Sandhausen . A planned move to SC Paderborn 07 in summer 2011 did not materialize. So he returned to Borussia Mönchengladbach, but was not used there. For the 2012/13 season he moved to SV Babelsberg 03 in the 3rd soccer league .

After one season, Löhe moved to Alemannia Aachen in the Regionalliga West after relegation with SV Babelsberg for the 2013/14 season . In April 2015, he extended his expiring contract period with the Aacheners until 2017. Together with Peter Hackenberg and Bastian Müller , Löhe was suspended and released in December 2015. They were allowed to participate in the training of the 2nd team, but no longer played a role in the Alemannia Aachen squad. In January 2016, Löhe's contract was terminated.

Shortly afterwards he moved to TSV Steinbach . His contract ran until June 30, 2019. He was number 1 in Steinbach. Löhe won the Hessen Cup with TSV Steinbach on May 21, 2018, making it into the DFB Cup .

After losing his regular place in the first half of 2018/19, he asked to terminate his contract at the end of the year. On January 15, 2019, he then joined the front-runner of the Hessen League, FC Gießen .

Selection teams

During his time as a youth player at Borussia Mönchengladbach, he was part of the Niederrhein selection and was twice appointed to DFB courses. An international match was played by Löhe, who with Sven Ulreich , Tobias Sippel and Ralf Fährmann had strong competition in the ranks of the DFB-Elf, but not.
